On October 5, 2018, President Trump signed into law H.R. 302, the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018. The law reauthorizes the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for 5 years (through 2023) and establishes various policies and programs, committees and task forces, and studies relating to safety, workers, industry, and passengers. The law also reauthorizes the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and addresses aviation security.
Last week, your TWU/FSI Negotiating Team (NT) met with Flight Services International (FSI) management for a three-day negotiating session. Last week, Members of your Negotiating Team held an informal Meet and Greet in Houston. Thanks to everyone who was able to attend. There were spirited discussions about negotiations, including the company stalling tactics, the relationship between Atlas Air and FSI, intimidation tactics by Management, and our launch of a strategic Contract campaign beginning with our Contract Action Team. Most importantly, we discussed the importance of communication and unifying our Flight Attendants to achieve the fair contract that we all deserve.
The next scheduled Negotiation Meeting with Flight Services International (FSI) management was scheduled for June 6th for three days. However, this meeting was cancelled by the company due to a conflict in their attorney’s schedule. This is not the first time this has happened. After the company’s cancellation, your Negotiating Team sent a request to increase our negotiating schedule to at least two sessions per month. We proposed ten, potential three-day sessions, from available dates, through the end of August. The company has not responded to our requests. Continue reading

Your TWU/FSI Negotiating Team met last week with FSI Management on February 20-22 for a three-day negotiating session. Attending on behalf of your Union were Brittney Todd and TWU International Vice President Thom McDaniel. Attending on behalf of FSI were Jackie Stulting and Ford Harrison Attorney Ellen Ham.
The Union and Company continued discussing Scheduling and Hours of Service. No tentative agreements were reached on these items due to Management’s refusal to compromise on these important issues to our Flight Attendants. The Union also introduced a new proposal on General Union Information that is still being discussed. Continue reading
On November 9th, your TWU FSI Negotiating Team completed a three-day negotiating session with FSI Management. FSI Flight Attendants Brittney Todd, Joshua Marcy, and Rob O’Neill attended for TWU. Abel Lorenzo was working and was unable to attend. FSI management were represented by Ford Harrison Attorney Ellen Ham and FSI Contractor Jackie Stulting. Joanie Ffrench did not attend.
Several issues and proposals were exchanged on the topics of Sick Leave, Scheduling, Missing and Internment, and Hours of Service. While no tentative agreements were reached, we did make some progress. We also scheduled two additional negotiating sessions for December 18-20 and for January 22-24. Continue reading
