We are pleased to announce that we have completed our first 3-day negotiating session with Flight Services International (FSI) Management. FSI Flight Attendants Nathan Keeling, Daisy Chavez, Lorinda Hunter, and TWU International Vice President Thom McDaniel were at the bargaining table for the Transport Workers Union (TWU). FSI President, Joni Ffrench and Ford and Harrison Attorney, Ellen Ham were the negotiators for Management.

Negotiations opened with introductions and the discussion of “ground rules.” Your team then presented our opening statement and discussed initial contract proposals for the start of negotiations. Throughout the session, your Union and Management engaged in productive discussions that resulted in an agreement in principle concerning a protocol agreement for negotiations. Your Negotiating Team (NT) also offered three proposals regarding Leaves of Absence, Nondiscrimination, and Uniforms. Your Union NT is now waiting for FSI Management’s response to our proposals. Our next negotiating session is scheduled for June 7th through the 9th, and we are actively petitioning for additional meeting dates.

Your NT also made additional requests from FSI to support our Members. We have requested approval from Management to wear TWU Union pins, have Union Representatives in disciplinary or investigatory meetings, and have the opportunity to speak to New Hire classes about the Union. We will keep you posted on any responses from Management when we receive them.

During our bargaining session, your NT also had the opportunity to discuss the structure of our Negotiating Committee as we continue to build our Union. We will be holding elections for two additional Members to serve to serve as alternates on the Negotiating Committee. If you are interested in serving your Union, or if you know someone who would be interested in representing you co-workers, please visit this page and complete the nomination form.
