President’s Introduction Letter

Hello TWU Local 578 Family!

I am excited, and humbled, to be addressing you for the first time as our new union President. As many of you are aware, getting our Executive Board in place, which consists of our President, Vice-President, and Financial Secretary/Treasurer, has been met with a few challenges. But, after holding a Special Election this past January, we are happy to now have all three positions filled and ready to go to work for YOU! I, Nikki Doby, will serve as our union’s President. Jacob McCarthy will serve as our union’s Vice-President. And Dionne Alexander-Fry will serve as our union’s Financial Secretary/Treasurer.

10-9-2023 Update

Hello FSI Flight Attendants,

I have received a few inquiries from Members recently, so would like to update Local 578 Members with the status of your Union.

At this time, we have vacancies in all three elected positions – President, Vice President, and Treasurer. We attempted to hold a special election recently, however were not able to complete the election because no nominations were accepted. I have continued introducing New Hires to the Union, responding to all questions, providing Union representation for meetings, and processing grievances until we can fill the vacant positions. Happy Pride Month from TWU Local 578

Pride Month is an annual celebration of the many contributions made by the LGBTQIA+ community to history, society and cultures worldwide. The origin of Pride Month began in Manhattan after the Stonewall riots, a series of gay liberation protests in June of 1969, and has since spread outside of the United States. The first Pride march was held on June 28, 1970, in New York City on the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. Today Pride Month honors both the movement for LGBTQIA+ rights as well as celebrating the culture. Continue reading

Meet your New President – Sharolyn Stanley

Howdy!

As your new TWU Local 578 President, here is a bit of info about me and my goals for our Union. I originally ran for and won the position of Vice President. Due to the person elected President not being able to accept the position, I accepted the position of President as dictated by our Bylaws. In addition, the elected Financial Secretary Treasurer was not able to accept his position, so we will be holding election for both positions. Details for the elections will be coming soon.
